The future of voiced media is exciting, blending technology with human touch for truly engaging content. We’re in a bit of a dip on the soundwave equivalent of the uncanny valley. AI voices have made significant strides from the GPS nav and Storyline in-built robotic voices, but they aren't yet perfect. However, it's important to remember that human warmth, inflection, and imperfections make us who we are. But AI-voice could allow us to use engaging voices from pilot to revision and in projects that would not have funded VO with human actors. To date, VO actors have been ideal for bigger-budget projects with more time. In the past five years, we've worked on projects where voice over could have improved engagement or access. This is a game changer for voiced media at scale. For workflows, this means we can quickly re-record without background noise and make quick changes to a voice or a script. I'm truly impressed by how this AI tool was able to mimic my pitch and tone within minutes. Check out these samples and try to guess which one is my real voice: Can you tell which is my voice? A Sample: B Sample: The result? An AI-generated voice that sounds eerily similar to me. I made a few adjustments on two sliders to dial-in the sound. I recently trained an AI tool by ElevenLabs using a few recordings of my voice. In the near future, we'll share our experiences with AI image and video tools, but for now, let's focus on the advancements in AI-generated voices.
